EE UK delays SIM-only plans – not launching today

The UK’s first 4G network, EE (nee Everything Everywhere) has announced via its official Facebook and twitter accounts that the SIM only plans are being delayed. The launch was meant to come today, but the company stated today:

Sorry folks – there’s been a date change for our SIM-only plans. We expect to bring them in the next 2 weeks. Stay tuned for the new date.

TechCrunch got in touch, the response claimed that the carrier has taken longer than expected in testing:
“The launch of SIM only plans (due Nov 9) will be delayed by a few days as a result of our comprehensive testing process over-running slightly. We know many customers are anticipating these plans and apologise for this short hold up. However they will be reassured that we are determined to offer the very best service possible.”
EE is pleased so far with its fast rollout of 4G in Britain, and is encouraged by the number of early adopters (brave souls), which reportedly hits the “thousands”. Sadly no more specific than that. So, we can safely say that the number of EE 4G/Broadband customers is between 1,000 and 999,999. Now, how about bringing 4G coverage to my city?
