We’ve all seen Apple’s promotional videos spotlighting the iPad, iPhone and iPod. Usually, they feature the clean-trimmed head and face of Jony Ive. His dulcet tones and British accent suck you in to Apple’s famous reality distortion field without even trying. Back in 1997, Apple launched the special 20th anniversary edition of the Macintosh which sought to push computer design to new heights, as well as pushing people’s wallets in to panic mode. The style of video is similar to current day videos: talking head then cutaway to manufacturing process (repeat a few times). The only real difference is that there’s no brilliant white background, and Jony Ive is a lot more scruffy looking, and has hair.
