AT&T’s coverage has been growing by leaps and bounds in the past seven days or so. Last week, it brought LTE to Little Rock, and expanded its coverage in Bakersfield, CA; and Florida keys, FL. Just over a week later, and AT&T has just rolled out its LTE in these eight new cities, Milwaukee, WI; Denver, CO; Louisville, KY; Orlando, FL; York, PA; Tacoma, WA; Annapolis, MD; and Provo, UT. So, if you’re an iPhone 5 user, or own an iPad 3,4 or mini, then the 4G lights are on in your area.
This new coverage comes as part of AT&T’s $14 billion expansion project, and LTE should be coming to Louisville, Milwaukee, Tacoma, York,Daytona Beach, Anne Arundel County, Denver and Provo-Orem sometime very soon, to get closer to AT&T’s aim to bring LTE to 99% of all locations in its 22-state wireline service area.
However, although AT&T has being spending a vast amount on improving its coverage, the carrier is still playing second fiddle to Verizon, in terms of LTE coverage.
