AT&T now allowing FaceTime over cellular for all iPhone users?

AT&T has made a few enemies over the past few months. Firstly, it looked as though the carrier wasn’t going to allow it at all, or at least charge extra for the privilege. In the past couple of weeks, that position changed, whereby subscribers with LTE and a tiered data plan could use their allowance to make FaceTime calls. Now it seems that even those with unlimited “grandfathered” plans are getting some free video call action:

In a recent thread we were discussing AT&T members getting facetime with LTE devices and tiered plans. However I noticed today that I have facetime over cellular and I have an unlimited plan on my 5.

I just turned off my other phone, a 4S and turned it back on, only to find the switch flipped to ON for facetime over cellular. Both phones work perfectly over cellular.

I also checked a few coworkers phones, all now have FT over cellular.

Give us a shout in the comments below if you’ve been successful in making FaceTime calls from your iPhone on AT&T’s network.

Mine is a grandfathered unlimited data plan If you reset the iPhone 5 it will highlight the cellular button for FaceTime, but only for a few seconds. Then goes back. I believe we’re being toyed with.
