Apple loses lawsuit to VirnetX, ordered to pay $368.2 million

Early this morning, Bloomberg tweeted the result of a major court case going down in East Texas. Apple was being sued by VirnetX for using its network technology in FaceTime and other programs, infringing on its patent. Cupertino has been ordered to cough up a huge $368.2 million. It’s a sign that – although Apple likes to portray itself as the company that’s always wronged – it’s probably as bad as everyone else. In truth all the tech companies are at it, stealing various ideas and designs. It’s competition, and it’s what makes the products get better.
