Apple to begin selling unlocked iPhone 5 later today?

The iPhone 5 has been out for a little bit now, and as many of you may know, Apple begins selling an unlocked version after the initial rush of consumers cause shortages of the newest Apple device. According to a report from 9to5Mac, today may be the day Apple begins selling the unlocked iPhone 5 via its website and retail stores in the US. From 9to5Mac:

Apple will begin selling an unlocked version of its iPhone 5 through its online store as soon as 9 PM tonight…The unlocked iPhone 5 price range will likely be $649, $749, and $849 depending on a choice of either 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB of storage.

Many countries get the iPhone unlocked right away, however being the US, we always have to wait a little longer as Apple restricts the devices to specific carriers. However if you purchased a Verizon iPhone 5, your phone is actually already unlocked. Those of you that have been waiting for this though, keep an eye out.

What do you think? Have you been waiting for this? Already have yours? Let us know in the comments, or tweet me @TiP_Kyle.
