Android 4.1 and Galaxy Note 10.1 added to Apple’s lawsuit against Samsung

Apple and Samsung, these lawsuits will never end, will they. According to Bloomberg, Apple decided today to include the Galaxy Note 10.1 and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean (though, no word on if TouchWiz is playing a part) in an already existing lawsuit. This move makes some sense, seeing as Samsung decided to add the iPhone 5 to its list, just as it promised.

If you remember, Apple has already won a court case against Samsung where Apple was awarded over $1 billion in damages. Apple being what it is though, is asking for more. The motion that Apple put forth today isn’t scheduled to go on trial until 2014, so we have some time until anything related to this particular case should be decided.

What do you think? Tired of these lawsuits yet? Wish they would settle out of court? Let us know in the comments.

These lawsuits do nothing but stifle innovation. Apple accuses android manufacturers of stealing ideas from apple while apple takes things from android(like the notification bar). Apple needs to stop. No one would bother suing apple if they didn’t start this crap. They’re like greedy little children. Like the one in Willy Wonka.

@Nupicasso I think you’re forgetting that all this was motivated by a lawsuit against Apple to begin with. Apple’s just getting revenge. I agree that it’s ridiculous, but, until the patent law system is changed, it’s not going to get any better. Sadly.

@TiP_Cam what lawsuit was that? I thought this all started with Steve Jobs wanting to go “thermonuclear” on Android.
I agree. This is really sad. The consumer will be the one who suffers in the long run. Neither side has anything to worry about as long as they keep making solid, innovative products.

@Nupicasso  @TiP_Cam Apple lost a $100 million iPod lawsuit at the hands of Creative Technologies in 2006. From then on, Steve Jobs vowed to patent everything.

@TiP_Cam ah… I guess he didn’t subscribe to “do unto others as you’d have them do unto you”. He decided to screw others as I’ve been screwed.

@Nupicasso  @TiP_Cam Indeed. But then again, can’t imagine anyone losing $100 million in a lawsuit and not getting at least a little bitter about it.

  • Nupicasso

@TiP_Cam lol. You’re probably right, but they should have at least just directed their vengeance on the company that sued them in the first place…not that I agree with it. But bully the bullier…not everyone else.
