iPad mini rumors have taken a hit recently, leading to a report in Digitimes making claims of a “production delay.” The expected invitations for an October 10th announcement event were not sent out, meaning the sources who claimed the existence of the iPad mini in the first place are now starting to backtrack.
“Shipments of Apple’s new products — a Retina Display 13-inch MacBook Pro, 7.85-inch iPad and iMac — have…been delayed from September to October.”
Let me remind you, however, that we are talking about a device that has never been confirmed. Yes, we’ve seen hardware pieces, we’ve seen Apple testing new iPad device IDs and what have you, but nothing is ever for sure with Apple until it announces a device. Remember the teardrop-shaped iPhone 5 of 2011?
I have doubted the existence of this iPad mini from the beginning, so it’s not surprising to me that the recent rumors have proven to have very little merit.
Do you guys still believe an iPad mini is coming? Is there really any space in Apple’s lineup for another ‘in-between’ product?
