When Apple announced iPhone 5 in September, alongside the new iPods and iPhone, iTunes 11 was shown off. We were promised a launch in October, but with only a day or so before October ends, that’s pretty much unlikely now. Apple has now confirmed that it is delaying launch until next month to perfect the program and get it up to the company’s usual high standards.
“The new iTunes is taking longer than expected and we wanted to take a little extra time to get it right. We look forward to releasing this new version of iTunes with its dramatically simpler and cleaner interface, and seamless integration with iCloud before the end of November.”
Personally, I’m happy to wait a little longer if it means the user experience is going to be better. Of course, I’m not expecting absolute perfection, but, I’ve always enjoyed Apple’s attention to detail. And, if that detail needs figuring out before launch, I’m happy to wait another month if that’s what it takes.
