“iPad mini” parts leaked: display, housing and front panel [Gallery]

The iPad mini is a rumor that will seemingly not go away. That could be for one of two reasons: either it’s a real product and Apple’s going to release it, or, rumor spinners are enjoying themselves so much they can’t stop. To some, I’m sure leaking false information is more addictive than a can of Pringles.

So far all we’ve really had is a bunch of mockups, info from sources “near the supply chain” and some guess work. Now, thanks to UkrainianiPhone.com, we have images of what is claimed to be the real deal; leaked parts. The gallery below shows the front panel that will frame the 7.85″ display, the rear shell/housing and the display and digitizer assembly. Although I’m not going to say that it’s a certainty, it’s definitely looking more likely now that Cupertino will release a smaller iPad. Who’d a thunk it?

Right now – if rumors are to be believed – the iPad mini is going to feature a 7.85″ in-cell touchscreen Retina display, Lightning connector, rear camera and similar processing power to the iPhone 4S. Price guesses have ranged anywhere from $200 to $349, and all is expected to be revealed around October 17th.
