Edifier’s TickTock – First Glance and Gallery
Edifier makes some interesting audio solutions for the music lovers out there. The Tick Tock represents something that should at least be considered as a gift idea with the holidays coming up. The range includes the model show, the Bluetooth model and one with an iPhone dock (30-pin not Lightning). If you are buying for someone else, get this version. It has USB, SD and 3.5mm jack inputs, which covers all the bases. Also, it works as an alarm, and will sit happily on the bedside.
In terms of design, it’s made to look like a traditional alarm clock, with small speakers below the “bell” coverings, and a circular LCD display which shows the time/FM channel/volume level. On the top is a rubberized control pad to skip, play/pause and change the volume. Underneath is a rocker switch to change the input selection and function options. Right at the back is the selection of inputs and other buttons for changing the alarm/time and all the usual alarm clock/dock options. Build quality is good, and I love the design.
The Tick Tocks are available in the US from http://www.edifier.us.com, cost between $70-$80. Or, for this specific model: http://www.edifier-international.com/products/edifier-image/tick-tock-sdusbfm-radio. They can be found in the UK for as little as £30. Stocking filler?
