“Color” app is no longer
If you don’t remember Color, don’t fret, you aren’t alone. If you never knew what it was, don’t worry, as it isn’t seeming like it will be around too much longer. VentureBeat is reporting that Color is shutting down, which shouldn’t be a big surprise as it was also reported last week that its CEO and co-founder Bill Nguyen had stepped down from his position at the company. After that news, the shareholders and board are said to have voted to “wind down” Color. Here’s an except from an employee email which was sent out:
As you may or may not have heard, Color is going through a number of changes. Last week, the Board and major shareholders voted to wind down the company.
Color has only 400,000 monthly active users, which in comparison to Instagram’s 7 million daily active users, is nothing. It was being said that Color had some big update coming, but of course that looks to have been scrapped as the company will be no more.
What do you think? Are you a user of Color? Sad to see it go? Asking what Color even is? Let us know in the comments.
