13-Retina MacBook Pro prices to start at $1,699

As is the way with these things, many people have now accepted the latest rumors that Apple will unveil a 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display along with iMac updates and an iPad mini at next week’s Apple event. Yesterday, I reported about the expected pricing for the iMac update, and today, details have emerged showing what pricing to expect from the supposedly forthcoming 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display.

It has been estimated that the base model 13 inch Retina MBP will set you back around $1,699, with top-end models coming in for $200-$300 more. Even if you fork out for the highest spec device, it’s still cheaper than the larger, and likely faster 15-inch flavor. As was the way with its bigger brother, expect the 13-inch device to be available shortly after launch, with supply issues emerging fairly quickly.

Obviously, Apple hasn’t even announced this device yet, but several (quite convincing) leaks definitely point to the 13-inch MacBook Pro becoming a reality, so watch this space, because we’ll give more information as things develop.

That would be impressive. I see the retina pros like the Airs, they will start off expensive, but eventually they will be priced more affordably, as the manufacturers and suppliers see the demand.
