Twitter hires acclaimed Apple hacker, Charlie Miller
That’s right, Twitter – who have recently become the social networking site of reckoning (it hasn’t been written, but Facebook is ‘uncool’, and Google+ is basically a form of social death) – has hired the renowned Apple hacker, Charlie Miller.
Miller, who gained fame by bringing exploits in Apple’s operating systems to the public eye, tweeted that he was “looking forward to working with a great team here” this morning. He will be working in Twitter’s new security team. The social networkers have been looking to employ Miller since last year, as they are building a strong security team, and boy, does Charlie have the credentials.
As a doctor of mathematics, Miller quickly earned a job as a ”global network exploitation analyst” at the National Security Agency, he then moved on to working in financial-services, most recently, he worked at Independent Security Evaluators and Accuvant, and let’s not forget the truckloads of fame and respect he’s gained from the hacking world.
Charlie Miller is a bit of a shady character when it comes to big, multi-national corporations, but it seems that he’s turned into a ‘goodie’ with his latest Twitter position.
