TomTom to help Apple fix Maps issues?
Antennagate, Batterygate, WhiteiPhonegate… the list goes on. Each time an Apple device is launched in less than perfect state, it takes no time at all for the world to get on the company’s back. But, before you all form mobs and storm Infinite Loop with protest boards, hear this: TomTom is working on improving its data. At least, it’s willing to.
Why would that make a difference? TomTom, the Dutch Sat Nav giant is the company that supplies most of the new Maps with its data. Obviously it doesn’t reflect well on them if areas of your personal interest aren’t on the map, so, they are more than willing to help Apple if needed. Reuters got a short statement from a spokesperson at TomTom who claimed that quality is of upmost importance, but the company is yet to hear from Apple about working on a fix/upgrade.
“We stand by the quality of our maps“
I don’t know where, when or even if we’ll hear anything from Apple officially, but, if complaints keep rolling in I’m assuming there will be an official line at some point. Don’t hold your breath for free Bumpers this time around…

I'm in Washington, DC and I haven't had any problems so far & the map is correct for the most part. only a couple of recent street / highway projects that aren't updated yet
