New iMacs are just around the corner, according to Fox News

We’ve seen many rumors suggesting an iMac refresh recently, because – contrary to expectations – there were no iMacs at Apple’s WWDC event back in June. The latest report from Fox News says that we will have a new iMac lineup very soon.

Clayton Morris from Fox News reported:

Get ready, because the iMacs are coming.

I’ve been hoping for an iMac update and it looks like my wish is about to come true! Multiple sources tell me that a new lineup of desktop machines from Apple is imminent.

Morris states that Apple’s new desktop will boast a “very, very high resolution” display, but also says that a Retina display hasn’t been mentioned by his sources.

What Morris is certain of is that the next iMacs will sport USB 3.0, improved graphics, capabilities for higher capacity SSDs, and – best of all – Intel’s Ivy Bridge processors. Essentially, Morris expects the same upgrades to the iMac as we saw in the MacBook Pro earlier this year. It’s also thought that Apple will change the computer’s design, resulting in the removal of the optical drive, something we’ve all come to expect considering that Apple hasn’t bothered with it in its Retina MacBook Pro.

Morris hasn’t given a date for when he expects new iMacs, he is only sure that they are ‘coming soon’.
