iPhone 5 vs. Galaxy S3: SquareTrade Face-off style [video]

SquareTrade, the company behind extended warranties and insurance for mobile phones has pitted the iPhone 5 against the Samsung Galaxy S3 in an ultimate face-off. Dropping the two from the same height, submerging them in water, and dropping various household items on them. Unlike previous tests where the iPhone 4/4s lost pretty badly to the S2, this time around, the iPhone 5 does better in every single test.

Obviously, this caused a riot on YouTube as angry commenters accuse the testers of accepting payment from Apple. To be clear: Apple doesn’t give products away or pay anyone to do reviews. Industry secret right there. Anyway, enjoy the video, and let us know what you think of the latest iPhone’s durability.

There are a few things wrong with this video. Let's start off by saying that I am an iPhone owner and I don't like android. But I believe in fairness. The first drop test was unfair be because the Samsung was dropped with the face tilted towards the ground which resulted in the glass contacting the pavement. The iPhone was dropped totally vertical which meant the corner of the phone contacted the pavement . Try that test with the iPhone glass facing the pavement. Secondly, the beer test was not fair as the bottle was dropped so the corner of the bottle impacted the Samsung . The iPhone side , the bottle was horizontal so the impact primarily was focused on the metal bezel and not the glass. Your test is biased

@PeteyPablo1 wow.. I had the exact same reaction after watching the video.. Those two tests - face down and beer bottle were unfair. The impact was concentrated at one point for the beer test while it spread across the entire screen and more so on the sides. I am an iPhone owner by the way, and will upgrade to the 5 - but an unfair comparison is an unfair comparison.
