Instragram updated to support iPhone 5 and iOS 6
As apps are slowly but surely being updated for the iPhone 5, some of the bigger apps are also being pushed through Apple’s update review process. Finally, the app so famously acquired by Facebook has been updated. That’s right, Instagram has just been given the green light by Apple, bringing with it official support of iOS 6 and also makes it iPhone 5 compatible.
When applications don’t support the iPhone 5, they are letterboxed. What this means is that there are two black bars across the top and the bottom of the screen, leaving the app to run at the iPhone 4 and 4S’s 960×640 resolution. They don’t look bad, but they look so much better when optimized for the larger 4 inch display. I personally bought the iPhone 5, and am always checking the App Store for updates to my favorite apps to support it. This one was near top on the list of wanted to be updated first. Finally, it is now. Check the source link if you want to check it out.
What do you think? Were you too waiting for this to be updated? Did you get the iPhone 5, and if so what apps are you waiting on? How do you like the larger screen? Let us know in the comments.
