Black iPhone 5 scratches easily?
Reports are beginning to surface on the internet suggesting that the black iPhone is suffering from scratching issues. Overclockers UK member “sharinhan_sasuk” has released a picture of his iPhone, with some pretty horrendous scratch marks.

He claims that he used a Liquidmetal SIM card pin and a set of keys to rough up his device. Now, why anyone would do that intentionally, I don’t know. However, the camera doesn’t lie, and I must say, that looks bad. A MacRumors forum has raised several questions about the iPhone 5′s anodizing. The general consensus seems to be that the anodizing will wear off rather quickly. In a poll taken, just over 31% of users reported that the iPhone 5 came out of the box with scuff marks on it, whilst 14% suggested that their device had scuffed or scratched shortly after.
Now, because the white iPhone is raw aluminum, those devices won’t experience the same problem, for black iPhone users it could be a different story.
We haven’t experienced these issues within TiP, but have you had any similar issues? Let us know in the comments below, and be sure to send us pictures if you have: @TiP_Stephen
