Apple to be sole provider of dock connector adapters for iPhone 5
iLounge reported today that Apple will be the sole provider of adapter cables for the next generation iPhone’s smaller dock connector. These adapters will allow people with accessories for the current 30 pin adapter (found on all existing iPhones) to be able to use their old accessories even though the iPhone 5 has a smaller dock connector. The adapters will reportedly be sold in one and three packs by Apple, with the one pack costing 10 U.S. dollars and the three pack costing $29. Also, the new 9-pin USB connector is rumored to cost $19 dollars.
It’s is good that Apple has the adapter situation under control, and that those who have purchased hundreds of dollars worth of iPhone accessories over the years will not be screwed out of their money.

TO: TheOneandOnlyAnonymouse It is known as Corporate Greed. Now everyone will have to buy adapters and new speakers and probably alarm clocks too. These products were made to accommodate the specific iPhone, now they have to accommodate a taller decice and you add to that an adapter, the alarm might fall over, speaker may not sound the same, etc.
