Apple launches iOS 6
After months of beta testing and developer previews, Apple has launched iOS 6! The new iOS will bring over 200 new features to iOS devices. The launch comes just two days before the iPhone 5 is released to the masses, and should prove a very good update indeed. New features include a new maps application, additions to Siri, and Facebook integration.

If you’ve been running a developer preview, the official release is not available over the air and you will have to plug into iTunes. If you’re running a device with iOS 5, then you can get it OTA, by heading to “Software Update” in the “General” section of the Settings app.
If you’re unsure about compatibility with your device, check the list below!
- iPhone 3GS
- iPhone 4
- iPhone 4S
- iPod Touch (4th and 5th gen.)
- iPad 2
- iPad (3rd gen.)
If you’re buying the iPhone 5, then of course, your device will ship with the new software in tow! For an overview of iOS 6′s new feature, stay tuned to TodaysiPhone.com!
Happy updating!
Updated my iPod Touch 4G today, the update went well, but I wish it hadn't. Apple maps...sucks. The new App Store and iTunes app...suck. Safari...still sucks. I despise the new music player UI. And everything else is pretty much identical. So Apple took a dated OS in need of a refresh and made it considerably... worse. God I wish Microsoft would bring back the Zune, made by Nokia and running WP8.
