Apple issues statement in response to Maps criticism

In response to heavy criticism over Apple’s new Maps software included with the launch of iOS 6, Apple has released a statement explaining that the company is working hard to makes things better. Google has also recently submitted their own native maps app to the App Store, so the fruit company has to fix things fast, or its Maps may be a bust.

”Customers around the world are upgrading to iOS 6 with over 200 new features including Apple Maps, our first map service,” said spokeswoman Trudy Miller. “We are excited to offer this service with innovative new features like Flyover, turn by turn navigation, and Siri integration. We launched this new map service knowing it is a major initiative and that we are just getting started with it. Maps is a cloud-based solution and the more people use it, the better it will get. We appreciate all of the customer feedback and are working hard to make the customer experience even better.”

What’s more, AllThingsD has reported that the Apple developers assigned to Maps is “on lockdown” trying to fix the bugs and glitches consumers have been reporting about Maps the last 24 hours.

I've been using Apple Maps since beta and have LOVED it. I had one problem with it when beta 1 came out; I reported it and Apple fixed it. Simple. Before Apple Maps, I used Motion X:Drive. It was good, but Maps is better. Siri integration, search + Yelp, and great contacts integration. Couldn't ask for more.

The Maps are working perfectly fine for me... excellent apple.

and thats why you get an android phone with great maps and navigation built in since the nexus one!! or you can keep your new iphone with a revolutionary new row of apps and a maps app that is half baked.

Justn16  mknhl1994 Android sucks period all android is is a cheap knock off of iOS and u know what, u android fan bitches talk about well the droids have better processors and u can do so much more!! but then again all of that aint worth a shit when u have ab OS that is laggy and crashes.......oh and when Apple releases its one phone a year it always out sells android....no android devices has ever out sold the iPhone on its launch day not ever that clunky plastic sg3.....and its funny when u see the sg3 on tv and it says (SCREEN IMAGES SIMULATED) u dont see that with Apple....

I prefer android over apple but I am getting the iPhone 5. I will still have my android by my side though. All I like about apple is the apps. Everything else android tops. It doesn't lock you in and u can customize it more then iPhone ios. For the people who say android sucks is because you don't know how to use.it @BillThomas @Justn16 @mknhl1994
