accesso CEO says they will support Passbook

Passbook is what looks to be Apple’s answer to NFC. It allows you to hold tickets, boarding passes, coupons, etc., all readily available on your iPhone. Some companies have already come out with announcements of plans to support it, and some airlines have actually already started supporting it. Well, if you love going to theme parks, you will most likely love this announcement by a company by the name of accesso. What is accesso? I didn’t know until hearing this announcement either. What they do is run the ticketing part of all the Cedar Fair Entertainment Company’s theme parks. Some of the bigger names of those include the likes of Cedar Point and Kings Island. Here is a quote from the CEO:

We know iPhone users will be eager to leverage this dynamic new technology so we worked aggressively to integrate with the new operating system well in advance so that our clients and their guests can begin leveraging Apple’s new Passbook feature from day one.

I am looking forward to Passbook. I fly a lot, and will be taking advantage of it in that fashion for sure, and I continue to hope more companies will take this and run with it. It would be great to just pull out my iPhone and pay using that instead of carrying around multiple cards.

What do you think? Are you excited for Passbook? Or do you just want iOS 6 and the iPhone 5 already? Let us know in the comments.
