Video: iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S parts comparison
A video has surfaced courtesy of Smartphone Medic documenting a “comparison” between the various parts of the iPhone 4S and what they claim is the iPhone 5. The most obvious difference is screen size. Since sharpness is going to be almost exactly the same, the extra size is made up by stretching out the display to 1136 pixels, compared to 960 on the 4S. That is evident from the elongated front panel.
The rest of the components aren’t parts we’d see in day to day use, but interesting nonetheless. Out of all the less glamorous parts, the dock connector is the biggest talking point. Instead of the iconic, 10-year old 30-pin connector, the latest leaks suggest we’ll see a new, 9-pin connector. Although it actually has 17 pins, only 9 of them are connected at a time, thanks to it not caring which way up it gets inserted.
