Use Amazon Instant Video on jailbroken iPad

Yesterday we talked about Amazon releasing its Instant Video service for the iPad. Something that didn’t take very long for some users to figure out is that the app doesn’t work if you are on a jailbroken iPad. The Verge had this to say:

It’s not immediately clear what in the jailbreaking process interferes with the Instant Video app or vice versa, although the presence of either the APT encryption key manager or the Cydia app store appears to be a factor.

So if you were having trouble using the service on your iPad, and you are jailbroken, you can be sure that is the problem. However, as it goes with most “problems” that jailbreaking brings to 3rd party apps, a tweak has been released on Cydia to allow you to use the Instant Video service, error free. It’s simple, you just open Cydia, and search for “xCon.” Install that and you should be good to go. xCon isn’t just for this app though, as it fixes a lot of errors from 3rd party apps.

What do you think? Were you wondering why the service didn’t work on your iPad? Glad to see a tweak out to support it? Had any other issues with the app? Let us know in the comments.
