Survey suggests 1/3 of consumers would be interested in an Apple TV set

There’s been an awful lot of buzz about a Apple branded TV lately (although it has seemed to quiet down with the slew of iPhone 5 news). The latest comes from a survey of two hundred consumers conducted by Pipar Jaffray. According to their findings, 29% of these individuals weren’t in the market for a TV, but would suddenly be interested if it came from Apple. If you ask me this is really indicative of the brand loyalty that Apple commands, people would still be interested even when we know next to nothing (including whether or not it exists) about this TV.

The overall results indicated that 49% of people surveyed would be interested in a 42 inch Apple branded TV (this includes people that were and were not in the market for a new set), but only 12% of them would remain interested if it hovered around or below the $1500 mark, which lets be honest, it very well could.

Pipar Jaffray is also extremely confident that the group of people surveyed are a good representation of the broader population. Translation: “We didn’t purposefully seek out iSheep and survey them”. Just throwing that in there to play it on the safe side. As per usual discuss in the comments!
