Samsung turns blame around, claims Apple infringed several of its patents

I know, I know. You’re sick of reading about this. We are collectively tired of this trial, but it’s what’s in the news, and now the tables have turned. We’ve all seen plenty about the accusations that Apple has been making during its 25 hours to explain their side of the story, saying that Samsung’s entire Galaxy line was built on inspiration from Apple products. Well friends, now it’s Samsung’s turn, and Samsung is going to play the same game.

Samsung called Harvard professor Woodward Yang to the stand as a witness today to claim that Apple used Samsung’s technology for inspiration in its method of emailing photos from albums, as well as playing music from devices. The patents being referenced are ones that the Apple competitor had filed for before the release of the original iPhone.

Apple is currently asserting that it is owed a whopping $2.5 billion, so it’ll be interesting to see what will Samsung ask for. Timing is definitely key here. The fact that Samsung filed for these patents before the iPhone was released will certainly play an integral role in the company’s tactics. What do you all think? Who copied who? Did they copy each other? Let us know in the comments
