Rumor: iPad Mini manufacture ramping up to 4 million units per month
We’ve been hearing rumors surrounding the iPad mini for some time now, but, without any convincing leaks to back them up it’s hard to say whether or not Apple will actually release the fabled tablet. Although there was a leaked memo from Eddie Cue to Steve Jobs stating that company should look in to it. Jobs replied somewhat favorably. Which means we know that – at the very least – Cupertino has prototyped and tested a smaller version of the world’s most popular tablet.
The increasingly inconsistent DigiTimes states that the rumored device is going in to production, ramping up to a huge 4 million devices per month by September. What that would suggest – if true – is that we’re gearing up for a launch some time soon. Of course, the publication’s sources could be wrong, or just plain making things up. So, until we know the product exists, you should file this in your “dubious” drawer.
