New knockoff ‘iPhone 5′ created by Chinese firm

As part of the ever growing network of people trying to steal the iPhone’s image for a profit, a Chinese firm has created a knockoff of the rumored iPhone 5, which will most likely be revealed on September 12th, in an effort to rip off the popularity of Apple in order to get a quick buck.  This Chinese phone is called the Goophone, and uses Android for its operating system.

Although the next generation iPhone is almost universally predicted to have a 4-inch screen, the Goophone has a 940×640 3.5″ screen. The Goophone also sports a 5 megapixel rear camera along with a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera that I like to call “FakeTime.” The firm has not release any pricing, or availability information yet, so for those interested in the Goophone, you will just have to wait.

It personally disgusts me that people would try to rip of the ingenuity of Apple and try to ride the wave of the iPhone 5′s hype all the way to profit city, but I guess you gotta get by somehow in the world. What do you guys think of this knockoff? Does it get you excited for the real deal? Let me know in the comments.

Goophone has existed for quite a while actually. It's one of the best iPhone knock offs available (the one that is supposed to look like an iPhone 4/4S) because they've got 3g. And there are hundreds of fake iPhones out there, you just gotta buy your devices from reputable sellers.

I don't see why Apple doesn't go after these people. These lesser known manufacturers are making exact copies of the iPhone and get a way with it, but when there is a device made by a larger know manufacturer that has little to no resemblance to the iPhone, aside from a few questionable patents, Apple tries to get the device banned and get millions if not billions form the company.

samichaels96 They lose more money suing these small companies, than just letting them be. Say it takes 50 million to hire the lawyers for this case, and the company is total earning 10 million, so no point really. But Samsung is making billions based on their patents and that's why they sue. It's not a this phone looks like our phone, sue right now. They are based on who makes the most money and are supposed taking their market share.

Have you considered that it might be a device that is made to look like the iPhone but is running Android?

This looks fake, upon closer inspection of the pic, if you look at the top of the screen you can see it rises a little as if someone taped a card or pic to an actual iPhone. Idk, maybe it is real, but that pic looks so fake.

dduran Good eye, I think you're right.  It looks like a slightly off-center adhesive cover.
