iTypewriter: Cooler than sliced bread

You heard it right folks, there has been a typewriter developed that works with your iPad. When in landscape mode, this high-tech typewriter actually serves as a keyboard for your favorite Apple tablet. The creator of this one of a kind machine is Austin Yang, a industrial designer currently living in Edinburgh, Scotland. The iTypewriter works by using a hammer with a capacitive touch bumper to touch the iPad’s on-screen keyboard.

Unfortunately you have to type very slow because the physical keyboard doesn’t exactly line up with the on-screen QWERTY keyboard, most likely because of the mechanics the designer has created.

Personally, I can’t see myself buying something like this, but I must say it’s extremely cool and will be loved by all those folks who miss their typewriters. To see this 21st century typewriter in action check out the video below, and be sure to leave your thoughts about this product in the comments section!

This could be useful for blind people who can touch type, but would find it difficult to type on the ipad's screen.

So dumb! Seems like you're gonna break your screen with that sooner or later

Stupid!  I can type faster on the iPad.  On an authentic typewriter, I would spill out about 95 wpm.  This thing would drive me absolutely nuts if I had to type slowly as the author says or as slow as the video shows.
