iPod Nano shortages around America point to upcoming refresh

With all this news about the upcoming next-generation iPhone, it brings a smile to my face to see some news about the beloved iPod Nano, and its possible refresh this September as reported by German publication iFun. The report in question has been made more likely as 9to5Mac has noticed that most stores around the United States have shortages of their iPod Nano stock, with the exclusion of the online Apple store, and B&H photo.

Amazon is down to half of their iPod Nano models:

Most of Best Buy’s Nanos are not available for online delivery, with a few exceptions, and their availability in store is also quite rare:

For Walmart, only a few models are available to be purchased online:

And last but not least, Target is in the same boat as Amazon with half of their iPod Nano models being out of stock:

I have always been quite fond of the Nano, and I hope that it gets refreshed this September. What do you guys think? Does the thought of a new iPod Nano make you giddy with joy inside?  As always, let me know in the comments.
