iAd Producer 3.0 released, better iOS integration and new templates in tow
Apple has just updated their iAd Producer application for OS X with some pretty notable features. From new templates to new workflows, the app received a slew of new toys for advertisers to make their work more efficient. The best new “feature” though, is deeper iOS integration. iAd is of course an iOS advertisement maker at its core, but it didn’t allow users to take full advantage of what they could with iOS. From the release notes:
Add calendar event, Send email, Place a call, Add contact, Add ringtone, Take screen shot, Set content offset for scrollView, Add PDF to iBooks, Set wallpaper, Save to photo library, Open URL, Take photo.
So as you can see, some of the basics of iOS were unable to be utilized until this update. Apple got started with iAd when it bought advertisement firm Quattro, where they have gone through a few different changes in management, ending up with the current former Adobe exec to head up as iAd VP.
