German Reward Club offers customers “new” iPod nano

In the whirlwind of iPhone 5, iPad mini and Apple TV rumors, its very easy to forget the product that really pushed Apple to the heights of success it enjoys today. The poor little iPod hasn’t received much attention from Apple in recent days, but it seems that there may be a fresh and exciting model on the horizon.

German rewards club Shell Germany is a group that offers members various products for the price of reward points. Recently, customers who tried to spend their points on the current iPod nano, were told that the device was no longer available, and that a “new generation” model was on its way.

Time for an update?

As we’ve seen in the past, stock shortages are a tell-tale sign of a product revamp, because inevitably, as a new model comes to the forefront, Apple stops producing the old one. Recent rumors about Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity between iOS devices may point to the possibility of Bluetooth capability in the next iPods, a fantastic prospect that would enable the use of accessories such as bluetooth headphones, speakers, and the like.

What would you like to see in the next version of the iPod nano? Leave your comments below!
