Calling all iPhoneographers, Instacube is waiting
The Instacube is the latest effort to make more money from Instagram, the extremely popular picture sharing application for iOS and Android. Basically, Instacube is a digital photo frame that shows pictures from your instagram feed. Cool, right? Well, no. I simply can’t imagine somebody owning this and not getting savage beatings for being such a hipster, I don’t condone this in any way, but my point still stands.
Instead of making fun of hipsters, it’s probably a good time to tell you about some of the features of Instacube. Firstly, it has a touchscreen display that allows you to swipe through photos. You can also use the physical buttons on the top of the device. It runs on a rechargeable lithium ion battery, which allows you to display your images wherever you are. The display has a resolution of 600×600, which may seem low but considering the maximum resolution for Instagram is 612×612 anyway, it’s understandable.
If you want to reserve an Instacube, pledge $99-$149 over on kickstarter.com to help the project reach it’s $250,000 funding goal, it’s already half way there, having only being launched yesterday. Instacube is pretty hot right now, so hipsters, get it before it’s cool.
