Rumors that Apple is planning a HDTV have been around for a while now, and just last week Jefferies analyst, Peter Misek, claimed that the Apple Television set is in full production. However, according to Pacific Crest analyst, Andy Hargreaves, who spoke with Apple Senior Vice President, Eddy Cue, on Wednesday, an Apple Television set is “extremely unlikely in the near term”.
Despite this news, reports from earlier in the year still seem to point to a TV streaming service from Apple. The New York Post claimed that it should be launched by the Holiday season, though as of yet, this has not been confirmed, but to increase the likelihood of this, recent stories seem to suggest that Apple will partner with AT&T and Verizon initially to provide the streaming services.
This is all rumor and speculation, so don’t expect anything TV-related from Apple in the near future.
