Well folks, here it is. My fingers stroke the keys of my computer with more happiness and fervor than they have in a long time. I am finally reporting that Apple has rested its case in its trial against Samsung with but sixteen minutes left on the clock. Samsung will be following suit soon with only 37 minutes left for its rebuttal.

I think I speak for everyone when I say I’m really glad the end is in sight. Normally I try not to place too much opinion in these posts of mine, but I feel like this may be a good opportunity to do so. I think that while these companies have a legal right to defend their patents, it can be harmful to the consumer and hamper innovation. Samsung makes some excellent products. Apple also makes some excellent products. They both integrate some really cool features into them that take technological advancement to its bounds. I personally would like to see these companies spend less time at each other’s throats, and more time creating what they feel to be the best possible products for the consumer, which is after all what they are both pretty great at.
