The iPad has been getting a lot of love lately when it comes to update apps. The Google+ app was update to support it, Google Drive, Chrome (mostly Google, as you can tell), and now one from another Apple ‘competitor’ has updated their app to support the iPad. The Xbox LIVE application has been in the App Store for a little while, but it finally got iPad support. With it comes all the features of the iPhone version and nice Xbox 360 dashboard looking UI. Some of the features are talked about in the App Store description here:
Take your Xbox LIVE experience wherever you go with the My Xbox LIVE app. Track and compare your achievements, connect with your Xbox LIVE friends, and change up your 3D Avatar. Review all your recent great games you and your friends love to play and compare achievements with them. Jump into our games hub to learn about the latest LIVE games and apps. Access Xbox Spotlight feeds, get breaking news from Xbox LIVE, game tips and tricks, gamer spotlight and much more.
The change log for the new version, labeled 1.6, simply states that the iPad now basically is gaining all the features the iPhone version has:
• Use your iPad with your Xbox to connect, control and discover content on your console. Connect your iPad for access to a quick list of your most recent console activity. Control your content with play, pause, fast forward and rewind media controls. Find fresh entertainment to play in the new Discover section.
If you’re a gamer and prefer the 360, you may want to check out this application. It looks nice, and seems to work fairly flawlessly. I’m not the biggest fan of Microsoft, but I do like the Xbox platform.
What do you think? Do you like this application? Do you use it, and are there any neat tricks you use it for that you’d care to share? Do you think Microsoft and Apple products should just stay far from each other? Let us know in the comments.
