If you were using Apple products back in 2008, you either had MobileMe, or you didn’t know a thing about it. It was hailed at WWDC 2008 as “[Microsoft] Exchange for the rest of us”. It faced many hurdles, a lot of downtime, and by 2010 was a service that was looking old and outdated. Sadly, today was the last day to use MobileMe online-services. For those faced with this new migration hurdle, Apple’s made your job a little easier. All you have to do is go to http://me.com/move and Apple will allow you to download files from iDisk, photos from Gallery and move all of your email, contacts, and calendars to iCloud, while retaining your current me.com address.
If you haven’t made the jump from MobileMe, it looks like you have no choice but to migrate if you still want access to all of your contacts, calendars, and mail on all of your devices and on the web. Farewell, MobileMe.
