MNML has made a bit of a name for itself in recent years. First was the TIKTOK iPod nano watch strap, then the more recent LUNATIK Touch Pens that we got a few samples of to review. The latest: TAKTIK. No, it’s not a breath mint, it is in fact an incredibly durable iPhone case. Of course, I use the term case very lightly. In real talk: it’s a tank. Check the video below:

The case is rugged, shock proof, dust and water resistant, and can survive a severe beating. It’s intense to say the least, and as with all MNML projects on KickStarter so far, the LUNATIK TAKTIK case has already blown way past its target of $150,000 in pledges. With 18 days left (at time of posting) it has received over $360,000. So, how much will this thing cost? I’ll break it down.

• White/Black TAKTIK for iPhone 4S will retail at $100. However, if you pledge $75 on KickStarter, you’ll get one sent to you on release day.
• TAKTIK with upgraded Gorilla Glass lens will set you back $125 on launch, available for a $100 pledge on KS.
• Silver/Black Anodized Aluminum TAKTIK with upgraded Gorilla Glass will retail at $175. Pledge $150 on KS.

Although I’m never brave enough to personally spend much more than $30-$40 on an iPhone case, I can certainly see the attraction with the TAKTIK. It practically gives you complete piece of mind.
