In the world of iPhone cases, there are thousands upon thousands of different models and types. The most prominent is probably the hard plastic shell. Every case-making manufacturer has at least one in its lineup, and so it can be hard to find any that are genuinely unique and spark an interest. Arctic – an up and coming company – has released two, which I think offer something entirely different.

The Metal Weave ($27.95) and Titan ($23.95) have been designed with looks and individuality in mind. Instead of being the bog-standard in iPhone cases, the designer has opted to apply some carefully crafted anodized aluminum to the back. The Polycarbonate shell offers a pretty solid foundation, protecting your phone from light knocks and scratches. Having the layer of metal should put any anxious minds at ease by making it much more impact resistant. The aluminum itself has been treated with a soft touch coating so that it doesn’t feel all cold, and metallic in hand.

The Metal Weave features an interesting 3D print design, made to look as if the strands of aluminum have been woven together. The Titan has a smooth brushed finished. Both are available in two colors. Metal Weave in gun metal, or silver. Titan comes in black or gray. We’ve been sent a couple of samples to review, so look out for those in the next week.
