Apple’s final reminders of iWork.com closure are here

The end is near: iWork.com beta “Final Reminders” have gone out for it’s inevitable demise. Apple has begun to send out emails to users of it’s iWork.com beta service informing them that the service is still on track to get axed come this month’s 31st. They are now instructing everyone to move on to iCloud:

Moving forward, you can use iCloud to store your documents and make them available across your computer and your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

iCloud really is the future of Apple’s cloud services. They have already done away with MobileMe, which got cut last month, and now with iWork.com ending it’s the beginning of total iCloud dominance. To aid users in easing the transition, an Apple Support page has been posted with information on the site’s closing.

iWork.com first launched back in 2009, and never really caught on big time. It was in beta it’s entire life, and was quickly overcome by the introduction of iCloud and slow death of MobileMe. The iOS applications Pages, Keynote, and Numbers were able to upload it directly to the site, and it could be downloaded on any computer (with internet) as a PDF, iWork, or MSOffice document. Now, iCloud.com replaces iWork.com by having an “iWork” section.

What do you think? Are you still using iWork.com? Already made the transition to iCloud? Let us know in the comments.
