Apple files patent for dual-mode Bluetooth headset

Everyone knows that Apple likes to patent its ideas. Whether it be multitouch or slide to unlock, every inch of its devices are patented from the inside out. It’s always interesting to see what gets patented because it can sometimes help predict what Apple’s next move is. Hopefully that is the case this time.

According to patents found by AppleInsider, the iOS giant could be looking to jump into the Bluetooth headset arena. The patent showS designs for a dual-mode Bluetooth headset. Essentially, designing a headset that could be used wirelessly, or plugged in to your phone. The idea being to enable you to charge up the headset if its battery fuel was running low. AppleInsider has more on the patent:

Apple sees the invention as solving a problem with the battery life and charging in wireless headsets. Though the application deals primarily with a Bluetooth headset, the inventors made sure to clarify that it could apply to “other types of wireless headsets and telephonic communication devices.

It could potentially be a great product, if it ever comes to market. A lot of things get patented and the ideas just sit there, this could easily be one of them. I hope that isn’t the case because if there is one company that could reinvent the Bluetooth headset, it’s Apple.

What do you guys think? Do you use bluetooth headsets and would one by Apple make you start? Comment down below and let us know.

A company i worked for has loads of patents for different wireless charging options. They have never actually made any products but are holding them in case anyone ever decides to!

The LG Decoy had this a few years ago.
