Add schematics to the iPad “mini” rumor mill

If the iPad mini is not real, this may be one of the most rumored devices to not get released. More information has come out about this supposed device than the long-lived rumor of an Apple television. Just a few days ago, there was a leaked “engineering mold” of an iPad mini, and now there is a schematic/drawing of the device, which follows right along with the mold.

Think iOS got these drawings from a “source in China” showing the dimensions we can expect from the device. The screen would appear to be right around the rumored 7.85-inch mark, which falls in line with the rest of the most recent rumors. The depth, or thickness, is supposedly going to be around 7.3mm. Also falling in line is the inclusion of the smaller, 19-pin dock connecter, just as the new iPhone rumors have.

One thing to say about these is that schematics are usually more detailed than what we are seeing here. These are much more simplified, so they should be taken with a grain of salt.

What do you think? Liking the idea of a smaller iPad? Is this all just rumor, and Apple wouldn’t make a smaller iPad? Let us know in the comments.
