Stocks app found hiding on the iPad in iOS 6

Well this was, unexpected. As most of you know (or at least should), iOS 6 beta has been out a few days, and someone today found an interesting little Easter egg inside. Back when the iPad was released, many noticed that not all the native iPhone applications made the jump, including Weather, Stocks, and Clock.

With iOS 6, however, this changes, with the introduction of an official Clock application of the iPad. This Easter egg though, as you can see in the above screenshot (taken on my own iPad 3rd Gen Wifi+4G to confirm it works), is that there is a hidden Stocks application on the iPad as well. However, there is no icon to be found for it. An iDownloadBlog reader (Gurmehar) gave the tip:

Well this isn’t really a feature, it’s more of an Easter egg. On the iPad, if you ask Siri to “launch Stocks,” it opens the iPhone version of the app which isn’t even installed.

So, if you have an iPad on the iOS 6 beta, go ahead and try for yourself.

What do you think? Did you already figure this out, or have you found other interesting things in iOS? Let us know in the comments.
