Rumor:iOS 6 Maps to feature Yelp check-ins

As the days go by, more and more interesting features are uncovered in iOS 6. Ranging from large changes down to small UI tweaks, it’s always a fun experience to see what is new with every update. One thing that helps that experience is getting the beta version of Apples software as a developer. It allows people to see what new stuff could be coming up and this time it’s unearthed a pretty cool feature.

According to Bloomberg, a well known and respected news site, Apple is going to be adding Yelp check-ins to the Maps application in iOS 6. This comes after screenshots were discovered in the developers kit showing the feature. Bloomberg reported the following:

The Apple developer kit, which was given to programmers earlier this month and examined by Bloomberg, includes screen shots of Yelp check-ins within Apple Maps. Trudy Muller, a spokeswoman for Cupertino, California-based Apple, declined to comment, as did Vince Sollitto, a spokesman for San Francisco- based Yelp.

This is pretty cool and I’d love to see this come. I’ve been running the beta software of iOS 6 and haven’t seen this feature, but Apple hasn’t released any more updates to it. So it is more than possible that this feature will be pushed out with an update. I can’t wait to see if this is true. While it may not be a “huge” addition, it definitely adds to the overall experience and functionality of the devices.

What do you guys think? Would you use Yelp if it came to maps on the iPhone? Chime in down below and let us know.

Welcome to two years ago Apple.

Yelp has been integrated into Google Maps on Android OS for a while now.

Hilarious how most of Apples newly announced features nowadays have already been implemented on Android phones for some time.

What else ya got?
