Rumor: Foxconn to begin receiving LCDs for Apple TV in Q3 2012

One thing that always gets me intrigued is rumors. No, not in the bad rumor spreading way, but in the tech rumors. There are a couple reasons I enjoy them. One, it helps me see what people are thinking and what they would like to see on a new product. Two, it gives me a wish-list that I can start building. Three, it gives me some idea as to what exactly might be on the next tech. Then you get some of the other types of rumors. Someone is shipping something sometime. The deal is going on somewhere at sometime. You get the idea. Well it’s another one of those “ehh” rumor sort of days. It’s not bad news, it’s just not a leaked image of the iPhone 3000.

According to AppleInsider, from 21cbh.com, Foxconn is rumored to be receiving LCDs in Q3 of this year. The Apple supplier was supposedly not going to be getting the LCDs until Q4, but production has been pushed up for some reason. It’s not exactly clear as to when production will start on the new Apple TV, but analyst Brian White of Topeka Capital Markets thinks it could be in time for the 2012 holiday season.

AppleInsider had more with the following:

The publication allegedly spoke with a Sharp executive and other sources at the company, which led the news outlet to believe LCD TV panels have been ordered for an anticipated Apple television. The report suggested such a device could be made available before the 2012 holiday season. ”In our view, a holiday launch would make for a very merry holiday season for Apple and consumers,” White said. “However, we will continue to monitor the data points surrounding the timing of this launch as they could change.”

I’m not sure about you, but I am still on the fence about if I would even buy this or not. Normally when Apple announces a product or even if there is a rumor, my “I want this” button gets pushed. For whatever reason, I am just not super excited about this. Maybe if we got a teaser or a leak, then it would possibly peak my interest. This just seems to be the big mythical product of the tech world.

What do you guys think? Anyone wanting to buy an Apple Tv if it comes to market? Or are you fine with the Tv you have? Let us know down below
