Open any site in Chrome from Safari, no jailbreak required
Just a little bit ago, we wrote about how you can set Google’s Chrome browser for iOS to the default using a jailbreak tweak. Well now we have something for those users that would like to somewhat accomplish the same thing without the hassles that can come with jailbreaking. All you have to do is make a bookmark in Safari, and whenever you want to open the page you are viewing in Google Chrome, you simply opent he bookmark and it will redirect you to Chrome and automatically open the page you were just viewing previously in Safari. Here’s how to do it:
1. In Safari, to bookmarks and create a new one.
2. Name the bookmark something simple, like “Open in Chrome.”
3. Make the URL of the bookmark the following:
javascript:location.href=”googlechrome”+location.href.substring(4);
That’s it. You are done. Now, whenever you want to open the webpage you are currently viewing in Safari in Google Chrome instead, just opent the bookmark you just made and you will be redirected. However, this will not prevent Safari from opening automatically every time you open a link, so you will have to do this every time, which is not ideal, but it works if you don’t want to make the leap into jailbreaking.
What do you think? Are you going to use this, or take the jailbreak leap? Let us know in the comments.
