Just ahead of WWDC, and going along with earlier rumors, the availability of in-store Mac Pros is reportedly being recalled to make room for something, according to MacRumors. The employees also have reportedly been told to tell customers they may purchase them online still, however. MacRumors went through roughly 100 US Apple stores inventories and found that near all of the ones they checked did not have the entry level Mac Pro available for in-store pickup, with only 4 California stores and one Texas store having them available for immediate pickup.
One thing that is interesting as well is available timeframes if one is ordered, with some stores claiming to be able to have them June 8th or 9th and other saying June 12th and 13th. Apple is rumored to be updating nearly all their Mac products next week at WWDC, although it’s still unclear if the Mac Pro is included in that lineup. It was last updated in July 2010, and new processors such as the new Xeon E5 options would provide for a substantial upgrade over the current generation line.
What do you think? Do you want an upgraded Mac Pro? Would you buy an updated one? Let us know in the comments.
