Every time a new OS update comes for iOS devices, it’s both good and bad. Good because a ton of new features is always welcome on an Apple electronic. Bad because with every update it gets harder and harder to jailbreak. iOS 6 was just announced at WWDC and although I was excited for the release, I couldn’t help but think of all my tweaks I wouldn’t be able to use for a while. Well maybe it’ll be quicker this time.

iOS hacker, MuscleNerd, has tweeted that he has jailbroken iOS 6 beta, well…sorta. While it is technically jailbroken, it’s still tethered and he states that a bunch of essential items-including Cydia- don’t work. He also says not to expect a release anytime soon.

As excited as I am to get my hands on iOS 6, a big part of me wants to hold off until it’s been fully jailbroken. I don’t know if I am alone in that, but I’d bet there are probably a lot of other fellow jailbreakers who are going to wait to update.
