Google Chrome now holds top spot in App Store

Google has been extremely busy this month. First they broke away from Apple in the maps arena, then they announced the Nexus 7 tablet, then gave previews of Glass, and now they have launched both Drive and Chrome on the App Store. Google has been working on iOS versions of Chrome and Drive and released them yesterday into the App wonderland. Things are going extremely well for them…not so much for Safari.

Just one day after launching, Chrome for iOS holds the top spot for apps on both the iPad and the iPhone. It’s an awesome feat considering Apple’s relationship with Google at the moment is a little strained. Some people even questioned whether Apple would allow the Google apps into the store at all. I think I speak for a lot of people out there when I say that I am extremely glad they did.

I don’t think it’s surprising that Chrome catapulted to the top. I know a lot of people that prefer Chrome over Safari. Not just on iOS devices now, but on computers as well. For me, Chrome just feels more fluid and intuitive than Safari. I had such high hopes for Chrome that before I had even opened it for the first time one my iPhone and iPad, it had already replaced Safari on my dock. Having used it now, I am more than confident that I made the right call. If you haven’t tried Chrome, you can pick it up here. Believe me when I say that you won’t regret getting it, plus it’s free so you’ve got nothing to lose.

What do you guys think? Is Chrome your new primary browser? Or are you still rockin’ Safari? Chime in down below and let us know.
